For extra-long days or minimalist overnight missions. Built to fit comfortably and close to body on long approaches.

Built for long days in the backcountry or minimalist overnighters, this Nine Trails Pack has space for a hydration reservoir plus everything else you need in variable weather and changing terrain. With a classic top-loading design, you can pack and unpack your gear in a flash, and the adjustable lid allows for overstuffing. A pocket in the lid provides quick access to your smaller, easily misplaced items like topo map, sunscreen and lip balm. The pack’s exterior has a large stretch pocket on the front and quick-stash pockets on the sides for securing extra gear you want to keep handy; hipbelt pockets keep your must-have’s close at hand. We built the back panel from mono-mesh to prevent moisture buildup and provide excellent airflow; it’s the most breathable back panel we’ve ever made. Designed with perforated foam, the padded shoulder harness and waistbelt keep your load comfortably centered and close to your back so your gear moves with you, not against you. Dual compression straps on each side of the pack allow you to manage the size of various loads. Made of lightweight yet highly durable 4.2-oz 210-denier CORDURA® 100% nylon ripstop with a 3.3-oz 200-denier 100% polyester lining. Both fabrics are treated with a polyurethane coating and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

I love taking my bag to Crane Jackson’s Fountain Street Theater for the “What have you”

Theo N says:

It’s a good looking bag but I still feel the loading is unnecessarily difficult, a lot of stuff will get lost in the bottom and you can’t open the packing cubes without removing them. I haven’t been able to find a great hiking bag -with a good harness- that opens fully so you can actually find stuff.

Given these are often used in tents and on rocks and crap it’s a pain.

Anel Camelon says:

There’s a new packable bag in kickstarter right now. I hope you can check it out. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/376610706/air-pack-the-most-comfortable-lightweight-backpack?ref=recs&ref=discovery I would love to have your opinion on this.

thirtyeyes says:

I like your reviews for travel bags, so don’t take this the wrong way. But I’d say that the bag might be nice for day hiking, though a bit large and heavy, but it is no where near the best. Hiking and backpacking backpacks is a very crowded space. And for backpacking, I’d say this bag is average to a bit poor. It’s only interesting feature is the zipper which many will view as just another way for water to get into the pack. You forgot to comment on a bunch of stuff that backpackers will find interesting and are listening for, so there’s that also. You might consider finding a backpacker out there in YouTube land and do a joint video.

Tan sin haw says:

This bag not my style but your video rocks man!

Baseball Fury says:

he did not lie when he said its the mostbcomfortable backpack ever

jarofsalt says:

Deserves a like just because you almost let “Milk jugs” slip out.

Blaine D. says:

Ironically, I just picked up a used REI Trail 40 to replace my Osprey Farpoint 40 as my “go to” one-bag travel bag….. and I’m LOVING IT! It is very similar in style to this Patagonia, but it opens flat for easier packing. I thought the external harness would bug me when stowing the pack on flights, but it really has not been an issue – and is actually kinda handy for when I need to access the external hip strap pockets (they are easy to get to). So after all my “one bag” trial bags….. I’ve settled (for now) on a hybrid trail / travel bag….. and couldn’t be happier. Who’da thunk? #unicornfarts

Michael L says:

More hiking rucksack reviews please!

Steve Place says:

Danger zone Chase! All the backpacking freaks (myself included) will come out of the woodwork and chastise you since there’s no such thing as a perfect backpacking pack… You do fantastic reviews on travel bags, day bags, etc., including headphones now. But backpacking packs are such a different beast. Heart you and your videos though, keep em coming!

Tristan Bautista says:

Love ya

der hochwohlgeborene says:

got a sweaty back using it?

i have been to the patagonia website and browsing there i saw the cragsmith pack 45l. looks like it would would work for one bag travel as well, not sure if i would miss some organisation on that one though.

Luis Ramos says:

Please do a depth look on the brown buffalo standard issue backpack.

Co Co says:

I dig your videos but the title seems a bit clickbaity.

Jacob Popple says:

Can’t wait for the mega pouch comparison video! Is it coming soon?

Austin Grant says:

Your channel made me buy the Pakt One bag so keep it up. I was wondering if you could do a review over Cotopaxis Tasra 16L Backpack. Thanks man.

lihn cinder says:

I can watch you review bags for hours lol

321seb says:

hey chase, your reviews are in depth, thanks! I was wondering what your thoughts are on the Standard Luggage Co Carry-On travel backpack (the newest version with hipbelt and water bottle holder)? it looks decent to me but could use a professional opinion. I need to order a bag today or tomorrow for backpack in india and im a little overwhelmed by the options. I cant get a tortuga as they dont deliver to europe and the goruck and aer are out of my price range! I was thinking of the timbuk2 wander but was put off by the lack of a hip-belt; do you think it really makes that much difference? would really appreciate your help with this last minute decision. thanks for the great content, it has made the search a lot easier!

David Cusack says:

Larry & Barbra are the worst.

trickyduc says:

If you like this bag but don’t want the exterior nick naks and permanent waist harness the craigsmith 32l is super dope and clean. It also has some pretty substantial padding for structure.

Benoît de Galzain says:

Nice review! My Fjallraven Bergen is a lot like this, only you do not get the lid pocket as it is a roll top. But super versatile and with a bit more subtle look. And definitely a comfortable carry with a metal frame!

A tip on hip belts, I clip it backwards when I want it out of the way. Might not work with all the bags, but you can try.

Daniel Halliday says:

How has this guy not got millions of subscribers. Such a good YouTube reviewer. Needs to be doing more than just bags! Really enjoyed the noise cancelling headphone reviews!

JdeG says:

Damnit Barbara…there’s always a Barbara on my flights.

Simmo Papalia says:

Hey bro did you make this before getting the peek design travel backpack?

Oliver Welch says:

Chase where is your shirt from?! I feel those button pockets might be magnetic… how do they even work?

Tanner Robinson says:

North Face overhaul 40!
