Glad to see another worthy competitor in this product category. By the way, stickpic.com doesn’t yet include Cnoc Outdoors poles in any of their compatibility lists. Can anyone confirm whether any of StickPic’s adapters fit these poles?

Terry Howard says:

FYI the cork handle pair seems to run $79.99 on Amazon while the foam grips run $69.99. Appreciate the gear content, just picked up a pair of the Cascade poles you recommended!

Adam Levy says:

HI, I am not a fan about z style poles. I find them uncomfortable when I just want to put them away while hiking. I keep going back and forth about it. Why do you prefer z style as apposed to collapsible ?

Ian Middleton says:

Hey Darwin, another great video.
You might like to check out the Dual Lock Pacer Poles found at http://www.pacerpole.com. With the different handle shape you neither have to grip too tightly, nor ‘hang’ in the straps when exerting downward force on a steep climb. For use with a duplex or similar tent invert the poles and use the rubber ferrule on the spike before inserting upwards into the tent roof. Watch the videos and be prewarned they feel odd to use initally, but once you’re used to them they really help with an efficient hiking posture. Disclosure:- my only connection with pacer pole is I bought a pair and now wouldn’t use anything else.

Deb Smith says:

Good to have your review Darwin. Thanks for always bringing us your insight on gear to consider

Meaghan B says:

Just ordered the Black Diamond carbon poles but was curious what needs to happen after you use them in water? Do you need to dry trekking poles in any particular fashion so they don’t corrode or rust?

Jeff Moore says:

I’ve never used poles, but these do look great..

james stein says:

Tks as always giving insight and I’d rather support smaller cottage companys

Dave Prete says:

I really like the way u present your videos but not all products you show are available in canada. I especially like the budget UL vids.

HikeHikeHut says:

Hey Darwin. Just wanted to give you something else to think about. Based on the video the smallest you can get those poles is around 114. Have you tied them on your Duplex yet? I’ve found in stormy weather I sometimes go down as low as 110cm to get the fly lower to keep the wind Rain etc out. Just something to think about.

Mike Watch says:

Darwin, which section(s) of the AZT are you walking next month? I have decided I like both yours and Dixie’s (Homemade Wanderlust) videos the best. Both of you make intelligent, fun and informative videos. Keep up the good work.

Jacob Kantor says:

WOW thanks! I was about to buy a BD carbon cork but u got be reconsidering

Hiker Marapese says:

Like the folded size, weight and price. Love my Black Dia. poles.

nLTwiGGy says:

Darwin your pre-PCT content has really been amazing. Thanks for all the information and videos!

Jim Cook says:

Can the tips be replaced? I’m seeing a trend of cheaper poles but with shorter usable life.

Mittencamper says:

I’ve heard BD has a great warranty and will work with thru hikers if they have pole issues on a long hike. Does CNOC offer any such reassurances?

Kevin Mcdonnell says:

Sweet poles…. I have a question for your Q&A ….. how often do you see people not hanging bear bags because of weather fatigue storms Etc …. and have you ever been too tired to hang a bag or just couldn’t simply find a tree ?

NewWorldMan says:

Darwin I’ve been looking for a pair of poles for some time and I made the plunge with your suggestion and I love these Vertex trekking poles. I’ve been using them all over the white mountains and have they have held up great. Thanks for your review. Hike on Darwin!

crazykev5 says:

Wow. I checked out the price and was shocked. ITS AFFORDABLE! Normally people review top line big name $140 trucking pole.

NotAboutMe says:

Did you get these before Zpacks released their trekking poles? I’ve been looking at getting a pair from Zpacks.

Heimhel says:

Hello. :)

Jon Briafield says:

Looks like a great option for the Duplex, but not for a Solplex which needs a 32″ pole. Hope they serve you well 😉

Jeffrey Weber says:

Thanks Darwin for always finding new things and information to share with us!

Jen Penn says:

I use BD poles…but loved your review of this pole and the price is awesome!

Urbanight says:

Hey darling love the videos. Can you let us know what kind of warranty these new trekking poles have?

dinosaur304 says:

Hey Darwin ! Thanks for this cool video! If barrel lock is another name for internal twist lock, then it’s possible that all the troublesome pole needs is some cleaning / maintenance. https://sectionhiker.com/how-to-fix-trekking-poles-that-wont-stay-locked/

chattfiremike says:

Just ordered a pair gonna see how they do
