Nerdnendo says:

cool shoes and a nice vid. particularly the raining part :-) do more rainvids

Mike Muralt says:

Wow, they are already gone at STP.

Chris ross says:

according to master Luke advices, i’ve just bought my first pair of vasque shoes last week!!!
of course, not the same specs as this one but i need to finish all the danner, merrell, oakley and adidas shoes i already own before i try a new brand!!!
but thanks for the review, as an eternal geardos it is always very interesting to hear about the different brands available…

Bear track woods says:

I have the Salomon Quest 4D. They are, GTX, warm, strong, but a bit heavy for hike boots. Over all no complains! A+ for Salomon Quest.

Bear track woods says:

Hi Luke,
These boots look awesome. I checked them @ “Sierratradingpost.com” and they goes for $69.95 just as you mentioned. However, no size 11.5 are available. Thank you!

Joe Debell says:

As always well done. Does the extra heat in summer cause any blisters for you? Thanks for the videos I really enjoy them. Maybe you and your family will get out before the snow flies and give us another hiking installment.
God bless!

Erik22552 says:

Is that the kind of boot you would wear if you’re packing a heavy load on mountain trails?

Jose Rafael Peralta says:

greetings I’m from Dominican republic and I am looking for a boot waterproof, I like that one you mentioned, it would be great if you could give the model and name of the boot and please give me some advice because I wanna purchase some boots,BTW thank you, keep it going nice work

mike matthews says:

and they retail for $139.00.

Greg Peck says:

65 bucks sounds like a good deal. That is the only color scheme they provide? Why? Solid coloring would be easier to manufacturer and more desirable.

Maplehouse Knives says:

Good review.
How do you manage to maintain perfect audio with all that wind?

Dinner-fork tongue says:

So not really footwear for the tropics. Good to know.

Have you ever had to run in these, Luke? If so, how heavy do they feel? Enouth to make your feet drag?

Alessandro says:

Nice boots!

Edwin says:

1:23, Looks like your little buddy likes your boots too.

Ibpn says:

haha, I’m old enough to remember back in the seventy’s when everyone wore big, clunky, and heavy leather climbing boots. people that bought them never got off the pavement with these boots.  I’m not sure how the trend got started, but I think the singer John Denver had something to do with it. God, I wish I could go back to the seventy’s.

S Kather says:

Bought a pair of Keens before going to Iraq, they fell apart in five months but when contacted Keen they sent me a brand new pair.

Mr W says:

do those boots come in wide sizes?

Adventure Outdoors says:

I’ve had a pair of the Keen Marshall hiking shoes for a couple years. Usually wear them casually. Wore them a couple times to a local track and honestly, I wasn’t impressed. I just did a hike in the Linville Gorge and reluctantly, I bought the Marshall’s. These shoes performed awesome for me. They are made for the trails. My next purchase is going to be these mid height boots. Good review Luke.

Rick Latimer says:

Nice pair of boots. I’ve had mine for 9 months now. The pair I have are all black with a little olive drab.

Noah White says:

awesome video, very helpful! I found these boots on amazon that I am purchasing they have very good reviews! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U8040I/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000U8040I&linkCode=ur2&tag=ifrlodo07-20&linkId=DLNPVQJ2UPLIOZ4V

Rochelle Andersen says:

First

Ray Contego says:

Would you use these shoes for backpacking? I’m going to do half dome at yosemite. I hope to hear from you

nissanlord says:

love my keen boots. very comfortable and waterproof. and black. lol

YT Lone Wolf says:

Hi Luke, awesome review, That’s my only problem, up here where I live there’s No stores to go to try stuff on, I have to shop online, Cabela’s mostly for footwear, I order shoes/boots in a few different sizes then send the ones that don’t fit back, I also do this with clothing, a bit of a pain, I should write Cabela’s and dick’s sporting goods to build stores here in the Yukon, lol -Jake – Happy Trails :)

James Barron says:

Thanks I’ve been looking for a good waterproof boot. Most don’t keep water out like they claim

Andrew Timms says:

Great, I was thinking of getting a pair of Keens

Carlos Sepulveda says:

Concur. Keen makes outstanding shoes gear. I own a pair of sandal perfect to be use on sea water beach, lake, and river. Nice review

Random Button Pusher says:

I have three pairs of Keens, different weights from lite uninsulated trail shoes to mid height waterproof light hikers to heavier insulated hiking boots for winter, having switched to them because of fit problem with other shoes/boots as my feet have widened with age. The toe box is roomy and doesn’t cramp the forefoot. The result is an odd look (to some) to the front of the boots, but they are one of only two shoe brands that I can wear anymore because of the need for that more anatomically correct last. They hold up incredibly well.

Michael Wood says:

Wind was not a problem. Liked the boots

mike matthews says:

the weight you listed is not correct. the pair (for 12’s) are 40oz. 8 oz lighter than the salomon mid.

BCSteelhobo says:

I’ve had a pair of these for almost 3 years now. They are OK but to me, not as comfortable as some of their other boots such as the targhee. Also, the waterproof lining wore through after about a year or so so now they are summer boots only.
I would buy them again if I could find them for under $100 but I don’t think they are worth more.

LikeABossOutdoors says:

wind was no problem

Rich Allfieldnohit says:

Agree, ugly :) I’ve been wearing Asolo but I could use something a bit less rigid for boulder hopping and such.
Thanks old buddy.
