great review! I don’t need another light but I might pick it up anyway to see if it will withstand the abuse it will take at work!

Alan Williams says:

A few of my own notes about these flashlights…
I ran the 2600mAh battery that comes with the A1 all the way down, and then recharged it. I used a reputable Anker Power IQ charger for this. It took over 8 hours to bring it back to a full (green light) charge. I don’t have one of those fancy meters to see what kind of draw the battery is receiving during recharge, but I’m guessing that the charge is more of a “trickle-charge”. I have not done the same test on the 3,400 mAh battery that comes with the A1S. I’d like to hear from others on their experiences in recharging both batteries, to compare notes.
I know that when the battery is getting low in the flashlights, there is a low to medium sort of step down step up effect to let you know power is getting low.
Atactical sells a replacement 2600 mAh on their website for about $16. I did not see a replacement 3400 mAh battery on their website.
Somebody answer me this… could I use the 3,400 mAh from the A1s in the A1? I know that the LEDs used in each flashlight are different. Would I have to fear about blowing the LED in the A1 by doing this? I know enough about batteries and LEDs to get me into trouble… no more.
I did try using 2 standard (non-rechargeable) CR-123 batteries in the A1 while I was recharging it’s 18650. With two standard Cr-123’s the flashlight works, but all you get are a low and a medium light when cycling it… no high, turbo, sos, or strobe. This is actually pretty cool though, because I know I can have some use of the light with what are becoming more and more common batteries on store shelves these days. My local 7-11 sells CR-123s. A year ago they did not.

My only complaint about you channel Israel is , when will we see you actually juggle ? ;). Start with flashlights and build up to knives. I kid of course keep it up friend.

Eccentric Detectorist's says:

Hello fellow AMERICAN. Can you please do a “Update” Review of your Timber Rattler Bowie knife. It’s been years since.

Steve Kluver says:

Thank you. Another great review!
How would you compare this Atactical A1S, to the Eagle Eye X5 you reviewed earlier?

Elite Exposure says:

I wish they would implement the SOS mode into holding the side switch instead etc. Otherwise its a hell of a steal.

Seattle206723 says:

#8th thumbs up ma man good review

Leonard Genovese says:

Where can I get a replacement battery

Al Holsbo says:

Can the side switch accidently turn it on in your pocket? Or is it for mode only?

C 4/27 Wolfhound says:

Can you use non-rechargeable batteries and can you use different rechargeable batteries than that type that comes with that one

Andres Torres says:

WeAllJuggleKnives says:

Showing the new Atactical A1S, a nice upgrade to the A1 at a reasonable price ($30), 1150 Lumens, USB recharging battery included.

Paris Holland says:

@WeAllJuggleKnives Compared to the Zanflare F1?

Ramil Pring says:

Is this Fenix clone? Having a hard time to choose, almost all CHINEESE fL looks thesame. For ur own personal exp./undoubtedly expertise what is the best tactical/edc fL that are made in China?

Daniel De La Cruz says:

Just received my A1S after I ordered it right after watching your review and I’m really impressed! Thanks for introducing me to this light for a great price! Took a lil over 1week to get from Amazon to California, just in case anyone is wondering!

martinaee says:

Do both use the same emitter? It doesn’t say on Amazon. For a gift I might actually still go with the A1. 500 is bright as hell still and won’t potentially cause heat or battery issues as easily. Also—– cheaper.

cameltoast says:

I have both, the A1S is not worth the extra $10 in my opinion. Slightly brighter, warmer white with a bigger flood. I would prefer a defined hot spot rather than a blurry flood

Additional note: the threads are very coarse and do not appear to match any other flashlights in case you were thinking about using a pressure switch or changing the tailcap.

Alan Williams says:

Guilty as can be… I purchased one A1 and was so happy with it, I bought 3 more. Then when they released the A1S, of course I purchased two of them. Hey.. Christmas is only 8 months away! Outfitted the get home bags first though!

mikedifeo says:

I would say another major improvement would be to have the USB port in the flashlight so you don’t have to remove the battery to recharge it. Also what do you think about it having a zoom?
