Nitecore NU25 Ultralight Headlamp Review

Don’t let its tiny size fool you, this headlamp packs quite a punch. Multiple modes, 3 lights, and recharging capabilities at just above 1 ounce makes this ideal headlamp for a hiker like me.

Hi from Holland. I also have this headlamp and it’s great.

r3dreck says:

Love mine. I did my own shockcord and used a coupon from nitecore for a total cost of $31.41. Super great light for that price.

Pack Mule says:

I bought it and did the same thing with mine. I did it myself. Mine is yellow with green and black shock cord. It’s been a great light!

Paul Champeau says:

awesome thorough review like always! I’ve been using my e-lite for the past year, but this definitely makes me want to upgrade to the nu25

Gucci Girl and Grumpy says:

Very good review. Unfortunately I only have about 2 weeks on the trail with my Black Diamond Storm, so no new headlamps yet for me but will keep this one in mind.

SkinnyGPanda says:

great review

Rob Duncan says:

I see a lot of value in this light , the red flash will be good for your back /bag in traffic areas , a good safety feature

Dwayne Gaston says:

Another great review Frozen! I started with that Petzl E Lite as well but wanted more light. Have been using the Black Diamond Spot for some time and enjoy it with no issues. Long battery life. But since I love buying gear it will probably make the list. Oh….it had to be a blue shock cord huh? Wonder why? (Can you feel the sarcasm?) Cheers!

Jacob Poucher says:

how did you get the shock cord off the headlamp to try the other strap?

David Thompson says:

Red is a good thing on the AT. In camp some people can get a little ticked if you run around with a white light. I found that out my 3d or 4th day while LASHING (Long Ass Section Hiking). I just ordered one. Thanks for all the great reviews and info Frozen!!

Ron Fitzgerald says:

Good review next time I’m in need of a new lamp you sold me.really like the lock feature

was just looking at this! perfect timing, very synchronous, thank you!

Ove Nordström says:

Great review again! I think I will try this one…….only one concern…..I heard that this headlamp will nearly discharge itself if left alone for 2 or 3 days and that you *must* charge this lamp immediately before you intend to use it to have a full charge or you’ll be out of luck…… what experience do you have Frozen?

All Things Out Doors says:

Nice review! Amen to the locking feature. I dont know why more companies haven’t done this.

M W says:

Check out the Petzl Bindi, impressive as well! More$

Steven Nelson says:

Looking forward to watching your vlogs on the AT next year. I just started watching some of the hikers on the AT this year and it has been fun to see their journey. I liked your SHT videos and hope to hike some of that trail this fall as it is my home state.

Hike 2 says:

Cool little lamp!

ARO Online says:

Nice, like the idea of the lighter-weight band. I might have to try that on my headlamp…although it’s a little heavier than yours.

Richard Moran says:

Could you link me to the pole mod for the cuben tarp pull outs…need to do that before my sept TRT hike

uptrail71 says:

Lightweight headlamp with many features! I’ve been wanting one since you showed it to me at Mohican.

Marty Elliott says:

LOL…I had the 20 I think it was for over a year, and this one for 2-3 months. I never knew you could “lock” the buttons! Maybe try reading the instructions next time. Thanks for the lesson my friend.

Duke Palk says:

I Try to be on time kekoa frozen and im due to get me a headlamp mostly for taking out the trash late at nite and walking the bully. Hahahaha some hiker huh. Be safe and mahalo for your expertise directions on the hiking realm. Aloha stay safe.

Brian's Outdoor videos says:

Nice review. This looks a lot like my next purchase

mark Williams says:

Wow thank you I’ve had this in my bookmarks as something to replace my current headlamp forever. Totally getting it now!
