Waterproof. Is it waterproof. At $9, almost certainly not. Then what. Everything gets wet, or you have to add a pack liner inside or out. And carry the weight of the water that the backpack has absorbed. I don’t go hiking to carry water I can’t use, or gear that needs other gear to make up for its deficiencies.
