What you more recommend?
Osprey Aether or Gregory Baltoro?

Lee Mc says:

i was unaware of the lumbar pack when viewing in store the other day. Osprey really have thought out everything you can ask for and more! I am just a little strapped between this and the Xenith 88, i like this one more and the built in waterproof is a bonus but unsure if i would regret the day i am all packed out and need an extra few litres!
great review.

James Regnier says:

What size sleeping bag can fit at the bottom?

vegas wajeel says:

Adnan Buchari says:

What a shame… they removed the J-shape zipper on the 2017 version…… lucky for me I bought the previous Ariel version.

The Aether 70 is a really amazing backpack and suits me really well. I’m currently using it on my big summer trip this year, starting from Montreal and going to Helsinki, Tallinn, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and New Zealand. I also tightly compressed a Kestrel 32 inside as I will be carrying that when skiing in NZ, and it has always been by skiing backpack for the past year. Anyway, back to the Aether, although my 19-inch torso probably suits a medium better I chose the small because I found out that when the lid is taken away, the frame of the small Aether is only an inch longer than the Kestrel of which I have used it as a carry on before. So what I did was to pack up until the top of the frame and no higher, and have all my camera equipment in the lid. I detached the lid to carry as my personal item through security, and the rest of the pack as my main carry on. And it worked! So far it has fit on the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350; however, on the older Airbus A320 (with the old interior below msn 3000) the bins were slightly shorter so it was sticking out a bit so I turned it sideways, and there was just one other bag in the same bin. Overall a really amazing backpack and it’s probably the best pack of all time.

I purchased it from the SAIL in Brampton at the end of 2016 just before the Aether AG came out, and they offered a discount because of that ($230 instead of $330 CAD). There were some changes in the AG that I didn’t approve of at all, most notably the hip belt where they sewn the buckle directly into the belt (like the Kestrel) and that way you can’t take the buckle out if you break it. In the 2013-16 design which I have you can take the buckle out as it is not sewn into the belt, and also the triangular design of the hipbelt looks really awesome too compared to the AG one.

Trooper2221 says:

Someone please tell me. The term for the waist belt tightening system. I believe this pack has it, it’s like the one on my filbe military pack. U pull to the front to tighten. It’s awesome I’d use nothing else now that I’ve tried it. I Just don’t know what to call it.

Eric Rosbottom says:

I’ve FINALLY decided to get this pack! I think the Xenith 105 and the 88 are awesome packs. But I don’t want to fall into that trap of Bigger packs and filling it with more crap that you wont use and most likely need

Michael says:

is it that nice color olive or is it that bright kelly green color?
