REI Flash 65L Backpack Review

Sinfonian Barelytone says:

I’ve got the Flash 58 I got on major sale for longer trips. Don’t quote me but I think it’s 2 lbs something. Many of the same features of the new packs. My favorite parts are the mesh shovel area for rain gear and any wet items that need to dry, the front hole in the side bottle pouches to actually get my own water instead of asking my partner, and that main compartment compression strap that also pulls up the load to ride properly. Although I am nearly ultralight these days, I look forward to using it for food on longer trips. I’m currently looking for a 25-30 liter to overnight. That Osprey of yours is popular but I can’t justify the money when I’ve got the Flash I can just leave half empty. Coming to you from the birthplace of the company you work for. Thanks!

ATH Outdoors says:

That’s a nice pack. I need both a new day pack and a backpacking pack. I need a large day pack to carry extra gear for other people so I’ll consider this.

Thanks for the review. I just got one of these packs and will be using it on the 4 day round trip approach to climbing Mount Olympus in Olympic National Park.

Escapism says:

Have you tried the 45? I just got it for a month long Euro trip: an REI guy told me he used it for a 4 month hiking trip and loved it… now i’m wondering whether I should’ve went with something a bit bigger…

very nice video. thanks for sharing.
how easy would it be to strap a tripod to the exterior of this pack.

Blue Cave Productions says:

Great video! One question though: what are the differences between the Flash and Traverse series of packs? Thanks in advance for any help.
