Hyke & Byke Eolus 15 Degree Sleeping Bag | A Good Cold Weather Bag?

Thanks to Hyke & Byke for sharing this sleeping bag with me to provide this review.
I’ve had a chance to use a lot of different sleeping bags this year, and to wrap of the year, I share my review of the Hike and Bike Eolus 15 Degree 800 Fill Goose Down Sleeping Bag. For a budget minded bag that comes straight from the manufacturer, it is a really great bag that won’t break the bank. It’s made well, haven’t experience any of the down pushing through that would be out of the norm, it’s warm enough and made well.

Kevin's Adventures says:

Nice review Devin, I’m in the market for an upgrade to my sleeping bag but I think I need something around 0′ for my area. Although, the price is right on this one and that color scheme screams Kevin’s Adventures 😛 Thanks for sharing bro and beautiful desert area you were in despite that crow photo bombing you… ha!

Greg, Outdoors says:

Great review, and a “proper” gear test! Pushing limits for solid feedback

anon ymous says:

thanks for the review! was wondering if you’d prefer this or the paria outdoors one?

Ray says:

Thanks. Looking at the zero degree Snowmass. This helps

I started with the Kelty Cosmic 20 degree bag… nice bag! This is a tremendous value compared to the Kelty!!! Just from the video, the quality looks to notch!!! Plus it’s a 15 degree bag… that’s a win win!

Adam Wood says:

Thanks for the review. The FAQ at H&B says the bag “ratings” are the survival limit. The comfort limit is 30-50F! It’s a shame that companies still use the lowest EN/survival rating. Very misleading. When a company uses the true EN comfort rating, it says a lot about their character IMO.

Mr Tmax says:

Good review devon.

Fishing With Daddy says:

awesome stuff man, new sub here good work

Mark Benson says:

Wouldn’t it be great if all Sleeping bag and quilt companies got together and unanimously decided to update the whole comfort rating to reality?! I have a 20 degree quilt that is really only good to 35-40 degrees in reality, I’m making the switch to a 0 F!

Very cool thank you for the information

Thumbs up.
I like it.
I might go for the 0 degree one.
Good review

Dragon Roams says:

Good Review. I picked up the shavano 30 degree that they make last spring and it holds up well to that rating for me. I’m also a hot sleeper. I think the lowest I’ve had it was 30 in my tent and 34 /35 in my hammock.

The Wasatch Gear Review says:

Definitely looks like it has a problem lofting up… 800 FP is normally pretty warm stuff. It’s to bad you were chilly in it. Great review my friend!

Tim Watson says:

Nice review Devin. Karate Josh has a zero degree of this bag I think. I think you’re right about it being comparable to paria and outdoor vitals. It’s nice to see so many options in that space. I’ve been trying the zero summit here (trip to come soon) and I’ve been impressed.

ZPD Survival says:

Thank You for the Review.

I appreciate your channel. It seems like you’re reading my mind when I see stuff I want to try, but am hesitant to buy.

Chasing the Echo says:

Thanks for making the first in depth video on the eolus. I’ve owed the same bag for a couple months now and I love it. Reminds me of the Marmot plasma series bags with the vertical baffles and color but at a way cheaper cost. I sleep really warm so i stay toasty into the teens with a cheap liner. Really good bag for the cost. Sub’d!
