can you go in the bag and show us what it looks like
My concern about this design is that the zip will turn with you rather than stay under you, and you’ll end up with a cold spot on your back. There is a baffle option which would help counter this, but is it necessary? What was your experience?
when you said you didn’t sleep the best I’m the 22 degree weather what clothes were you wearing?
I would love to see the bag with you in it to see how far it comes up.
I LOVE all of your reviews….they are very interesting…what kind of pad do you like to sleep on? What do you recommend?
Thanks for the review. I really want to shed some weight, but I don’t see the advantage in a quilt. I’m using a Western Mountaineering Megalite right now, it’s 25 oz versus 24 oz for a comparably sized ZPacks 20 degree. Yes the Z is rated at 20 degrees, but that’s with a down jacket and headgear. My Megalite is comfortable in capilene at 30 degrees and at 25 with my Ghost Whisperer. Plus with a full length zipper, the Megalite opens up quilt-like. What am I missing?
I think by having the zipper on the bottom or on your back side.this can rupture sleeping pads?
excellent..thanks so much
Typically you don’t zip it closed. It’s used as a quilt and you sleep on an insulated mat that forms the lower insulation part of your sleep system. Down underneath compresses and becomes more or less useless.
i have mummy bags..but i always ended up using them upside down with zipper under me open and the hood draped over my head since the 90s..once i found out about the quilt i was sold..i like how this is sort of a hybrid between a quilt and sleeping bag..
The good thing is if you want to go colder, you can use them both together. Zpacks makes great gear.
