nice kit, good set up, and good to have suturekit. What |I missed was everyhing related to breathcontrole, to clear the airway, , a kiss-of-life-mask, laryngoscope etc. Also some splints I find very helpfull in my medical kit. And although your second part is well set up, you have to realize that that entrire amount of objects will last you – at best – for only one wound!!! You need muvch much much much more gauze, bandages, and all of that to really be able to do first aid even on one person. Unfortunately when someone is wounded it simply is not just one clean tight wound but usually there is muvch more oing on. So altrhough the kit is well set up, you need much much much more of everything basically. Add clove oil for toothproblems, tourniquette(as you said yourself), alcohol, and I also added packs of sanitary (female) bandages – as thick a spossible – to really help with large bleedings to clean the wound and help give pressure to stop bleedings. Is just my experience – no offense meant. Welld one bro! Oh and PS – I love the bag itself!!

7:45 Good on you for adding the Quick Clot combat gauze. I would use that or the Quick Clot sponges in place of that “hemostat powder” at 7:05.

If that’s the same thing as Celox powder, I’ve seen/read horror stories of what that stuff does after it stays in the wound for a little while. Sure, it stops the bleeding effectively, but I’ve heard that it also burns like a mofo and is difficult to clean out of the wound once it starts to heal. The Quick Clot, on the other hand, is just gauze or a sponge, so you can take it out as one unit and it’s not attached to the tissue.

Just my 2 cents. Great video, and I want that kit lol.

+The Survival Outpost WARNING – IT WIL BE DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRAW UP YOUR LIDOCAINE WITH A 27G NEEDLE – Get a few 18G needles without the syringe, unscrew the 27G needle, screw on the 18G needle, draw up your lidocaine, unscrew the 18G needle, screw the 27G back on the syringe…. BOOM, ready for stitching.

Please keep In Mind this is a $160 with free shipping . I focus on the hard to get part of the kit .Most everyone buying a kit like this already has the basics like chest seals and tourniquets If not we do have them. I also have over 20 kits ranging from a simple IFAK that fits in your cargo pants to a squad size full mobile pack .Most all kits will also now include adrenaline and intravenous antibiotics .

The SAM Splint is incredibly lightweight (only 4.0 oz.), and no other device offers so many variations for the treatment of orthopedic emergencies. The SAM Splint has been the standard for 25 years!

Guess things like expiry dates of drugs, drugs that need to be kept refrigerated all these details are not important. Sorry I have to thumbs down this video for those reasons.
A good book for medical care: Ship Captains Medical Guide. We who work at sea have no access to doctors nor drugs for up to 2 weeks at a time, the book is designed to help captains with little medical training to keep people alive long enough to get help. It also includes a list of drugs and equipment suggested for crews of 6 or 12 or 24 people.
It is free to download direct from the UK government.

A comprehensive kit. Does the kit include non-laytex gloves? You might think about a couple of chest seals Halo makes packs with two seals in case you have a through and through chest wound. atb Opal

Michael Bright, says:

how were you able to get lidocaine and all those other injectable medications @The Survival Outpost

David whittington says:

Firstly, good video. Regarding knowledge, I was a military and civilian medic for many years. I would suggest downloading PDF files and minimizing the information with help from your medically trained family, into a ‘got to’ transportable library. Yes you can buy books, but I have found many books have items that are not needed or use over sized pictures or text to increase the pages of the book. By collecting information and editing it to your needs, you can create a concise book or library of information that can be carried anywhere… I hope this is useful….

Wow, my head is spinning from the first 3 seconds. Stopped the video and knew exactly where the intro was shot. Get over to Demonbreun St. much? Broadway? What a surprise. Cool. It’s been so long since I’ve been there I can’t believe I recognized it so quickly. Great video. I don’t know how you’re doing it but I’m glad you are, fantastic selection you have at the store. Thanks for sharing your kit.
