Cabelas Alaskan Guide 8 Person Tent – Review/Setup HD

Cabelas Alaskan Guide 8 Person Tent being set up and reviewed.
I WAS ABLE to set this tent up by myself, but I would not suggest doing this unless you have set it up before with another person.

Knowing how everything fits together would have made the process much easier.
This thing is bombproof!

could you fit 2 adults and 3 kids and a dog in this tent and be comfortable?

Jefferson Lambert says:

Sweet tent. I have a 6-man Alaskan Guide tent that I’m going to use this year and will set it up for the first time this week. Thanks for the video.

Nice review but its called a rain fly , the vestibule is the part at the front door.

Eian Wahgener says:

Get air mattress cots.. then you can use the space under the mattress 🙂 My only complaint is the top vents.. i wish i could cover them during setup, so i don’t get rain in when setting up in rain. was thinking of doing something with some magnets…. or installing zippered covers.. they used to come with those.

I picked up the Cabela’s Alaskan Guide 4 person tent Last fall. I tried the Rei Kingdom 4 person and the Big Agnes Big House 4 person tent. I liked the Rei Kingdom 4 person tent, I was able to set it up by myself, because of there poles being very sturdy . Reason I returned it was , Camping on Lake Superior shore line the winds can exceed 40 Mph in bad weather, I was told by Rei sales man it might be pushing it, Also I wanted something I can winter camp in if need be.
The Big Agnes Big house 4 person tent. Plus side was it also had a lot of room, but when trying to put it up by myself the poles bent. I was told by an Rei sales man , Its not the best tent for solo set up.
So far I am pleased with the Cabela’s Alaskan Guide 4 person tent. I am able to set it up by myself. Alaskan guide tent is also 4 season tent, so I can winter camp. Was watching another video on the tent, and they were camping in winds of 40 Mph. Also when setting it up, the tent felt like it was a thicker material and would last longer. Only con I have with the Cabela’s tent is, I wish Cabela’s made a foot print for it.

Randy Swain says:

Just curious did you get this with the aluminum or fiberglass poles? Also does this have a warrantee, looking for a large 8 person tent for my wife and I, and two teenage daughters. We use queen mattresses and when it does rain we play games in the tent.

Keith Sage says:

The actual time is around five minutes or less..I have the 8 person tent..What you never hear is the questions from other campers when asked about this tent..Its a fantastic tent..You will never buy another, the quality is better than any tent on the market..if you have kids, get the 8 person you will won’t go wrong. get used to using the tie downs, if the wind gets high it can lift in the wind word side. I use the vestibule. I love this tent when the rain gets real bad, you will be dry.
