Just stayed in this type of tent yesterday and I brought my helinox cot and my klymit sleeping pad, a warm sleeping bag and my blow up pillow that somehow popped through out the night so I had to stuff a stuff sack with my coat and use it for my pillow instead. It felt just as warm and comfortable as my bed at home and the tent stayed dry and wonderful even though it was absolutely pouring rain all night long.
Great review of the half-dome! You are spot on when describing the best features….thin mesh for bugs is huge for me, and I also love the 2-door ventilation!
Why do you go on about compartments, when you also say you would have liked a lighter tent? The more material, the more weight. Also, why are you carrying books and an iPad Mini if you are so concerned with weight. I think you’re priorities are a little askew…
I’m looking for a tent that is strong, can resist any moderately bad (heavy rain, snow) weather under £200. Sure, doesn’t anyone? Still, you have any ideas for a good 1-2 person tent?
I just ordered this tent, I wanted to checkout some reviews and you really reassured my decision.
I just got this tent. Do you suggest the rain footprint as well?

Nice little tent, looks very short though! Thanks for posting.
Grow up and get a haircut
Do you think this tent is better for 2 people than the MSR hubba hubba?
A cheaper tent at Walmart will not protect you as much.
Thanks for the info. We are getting the half dome 4.
