Gear Review – Eureka Jade Canyon 6 Person Tent

Click here to purchase one for yourself

Jade Canyon 6 family tent is one pretty sweet tent. Packed full of features its (in my opinion) one of the best tents on the market hands down!
The 3 huge windows and easy access door make it very user friendly. I also really liked the fact that I could set up the tent all by myself without any help. For a tent of this size thats awesome. The illuminate system for the ceiling panels reflects light from an LED lantern (sold separately) down towards the floor of the tent making everything much brighter inside at night. The media center is a great touch too if you want to snuggle up with the family for movie night in the backyard. Just slip an extension cord through the POWER PORT (zippered slot) and you’re good to go!
This is not a tent I would backpack with as its heavy (around 20lb) but for family car camping its perfect. It also withstood 60mph + wind gusts and took it like a champ! This tent is very strong and highly recommended.

Really cool tent.

WayneP117 says:

Would be comfortable for 2/3 people……Max
But still, nice tent, I like it

Yarn Buzz says:

Is this tent made in the USA? or somewhere else? The Amazon link is no longer working.

Fear of Singing Breakthrough Program says:

What happens when it rains? That fly doesn’t look very effective — I’m wondering if you can keep the windows open at all for ventilation during rainy times or do you have to keep the whole tent closed? Our old sunrise 9 was great that way and I’m confused by this new design…

Nice review. Cool product too. Thanks!

This is just the kind of review I was looking for. In the last couple of years I have started camping alone and I just bought an ALPS Mountaineering 4 man tent. I thought it would be warmer on the cold nights than the big huge Hampton family tent that I have been using. It is a good tent, but not enough room in it for the cot that I use. Had to revert back to a smaller cot. I also do not like having to bend down so much and it is a pain in the butt to set up alone with it having clips to hook on the poles instead of sleeves. So I decided to upgrade to a six man and have been doing a lot of researching. Your video has been very helpful and I think I am going with this. I would not use the reflectors as I like having the rain fly off to look at the stars when the weather is nice. And I have to say, I find the idea of a media center ironic in a tent. Isn’t the purpose of camping to get back to nature and away from all the electronic junk? But never the less, it looks like a great tent!

Siridatar Khalsa says:

Could you show how you fold the tent back up to fit into the yellow bag? Thanks.

itisolegtoo says:

Hi. You talked about windows but not about the door… Is it a 2 zipper design or single zipper ??

James Tucker says:

Looks like a good tent. I appreciate that you fast forwarded thru some of the more repetitive stuff.

Good job!

Great review!!! I have the Copper Canyon 6 for several years now and I’m glad they made advancements to this particular unit. I’m especially liking the upgrade of the lantern reflectors to improve overall lighting, I wish I had that. LOL

Eitherway, I love this tent as much you do. Great product!!! Thank you for posting this…

jsalvad says:

is the eureka jade canyon 4 tent has the same features? is there a screen by the door as well?

Angry Gamer says:

I really want this tent but the four man version and why aren’t them mesh windows velcro’ed instead of stitched if you could remove the bug mesh window panel things and the door mesh that would be really cool and is it possible if I could get someone to alter the windows so the mesh is removable for me?? Just a thought….

Anthony Jimenez says:

I really Like this and I am considering taking it to Burning man festival but, I need to know if the ceiling and windows ca be zipped up to prevent the dust from going in?

Fear of Singing Breakthrough Program says:

We just got the Desert Canyon and the material of the window screens is really weird. Everything looks fuzzy when I look out of them, and there are kinks in the material — I’ve never experienced this in a tent before. How are the windows on the Jade Canyon? Is the view out the screens clear or fuzzy? I really treasure my beautiful view out of my tent windows when I’m camping — the sunrise 9 was great in so many ways — great fly, great windows — I can’t understand why I can’t get a great tent like this anymore. (Ours is old and worn out and we want something a little bigger so we can stand in it.) The Desert Canyon doesn’t even have zippers on the windows! Sheesh. 🙂
