The kind folks at Napier SUV tents out of Quebec Canada contacted me and asked if I would review their Backroadz SUV tent. Despite not really being a “tent guy” I agreed to do a video review and also shoot some photos of it set up for them. After receiving the tent I tried to do this review many times up at Roche Lake in BC, Canada. With a full-time job plus commute, all the campers and fishermen at that lake as well as challenges with smoke from the nearby forest fires this season I wasn’t able to get the time I wanted to do it right from a photo/video aspect. Once fall arrived I found a nice day to take a drive to Logan Lake, BC and get it done. Here are my thoughts on this tent that fits to the back opening of any SUV.
Note: this is NOT a “how-to” instructional video on how to set up the tent.

I agree with you about the pegs Wayne. I think its about the cost for Napier. But you are right about all tents! All the best in 2018!
Thanks for the review Wayne! Love the honest feedback about the pegs – will pass that along! And you did end up choosing a fantastic location!
Cheap pegs – rrggh!!! I agree. I have an expensive, inflatable tent, and what else? Cheap pegs.
Very helpful review, thank you sir! I am contemplating buying one for use in the UK this year. I’m not sure about the coverage offered by the rain fly (it gets very wet over here) and wonder how tight you might tie it down. Also, I haven’t yet seen a review which details the peg-down points for the base of the tent. Great review though and top point regarding the pegs – any pegs for that matter.
They use cheap pegs so you can go out and spend more money on expensive pegs. If they packaged quality pegs they wouldn’t be getting the money from you for better pegs.
Agree On The Cheap Tent Pegs! Great Review! Thanks For Sharing My Friend!
