Merrell boots are amazing. I’ve owned the Gore-tex Moab for over 5 years and just bought a replacement. These are waterproof breathable, and have vibram soles. Love the comfort and performance, they are great for rainy weather, hiking, and I have even worn them into snow. From the mountains of British Columbia to the ruins of Mexico, these have been amazing shoes for me. Thanks for watching. Please leave a comment!

You’re correct about the width. Merrel is one of the few companies that make a true wide. I have 4E feet and the room inside is very generous. So anyone reading this with really wide 4E+ feet can easily wear these.
Would be nice if they made a taller version, 8” or so. But I will wear gaiters with these if I’m in the snow or have to cross a stream or something.
I have the same shoe and have worn them for about 5 years. I am about to replace them due to the fact that my feet have not quit growing (even at age 43). I hope that I can get a larger size. Great review by the way! Thanks…
Great video. If you wear size 10 , ill take your older pair.
Merrell makes great shoes, they are all I wear.
great review thanks!
Back in April 2015 I bought a pair of Moab Rover Mid, not this exact model though, but the one that is “plain”. I really used them a lot, in fact, I’m still using them but they’re severely worn out.
Not a complain because I basically have used them for thousands of km, and they were my main pair of shoes for a 10 month long trip through Europe (that included quite some hiking especially in the Polish Tatras). I noticed last july that they were losing waterproofness, strangely enough, if no rain was encountered for a couple days they regained their ability to repel water.
The soles of my boots are completely worn out at some partos though, did you use your pair everyday or only for hikes or on rainiy days at the city?
I love mid-height hikers for daily use in the woods. I used to be loyal to Timerlands Chukkas, but their overseas construction really went through changes and their quality dropped a lot. I do have a pair of their Pro Work Boots that never let me down.
I’ve been seriously eyeing Merrells.
Have heard nothing but good stuff about them.
Were your 5 year old pair manufactured here or in China?
Oh, and thanks for the REAL WORLD review. Most shoes are awesome out the box,
but seeing a pair years old really shows you what a boot is made of.
Can these be used for a day in the snow? I am doing a snow camp for a day and bought these.
Merrells are pretty much the only shoes sandals and boots Ive worn outside of work for about 12yrs now as ide from my Keen paddling shoes. Merrells rock!!!
You gave the exact info i was looking for. Thanx. I’ll be wearing mine mainly in the city (hiking boot needed for my weak ankles) and i was almost totally turned onto Merrell until you mentioned the soul wearing out on hard terain. Great vid.
